Early Rider wins Eurobike Award!

Press Release, 28th September 2012:

“The prize was awarded to their latest product, the worlds first belt drive pedal bike for children known as ‘The Belter’. The bike boasts an anatomically correct riding position with carbon seat post, forged aluminium frame, short reach mini’V’ brakes and all aluminium wheelset. Weighing in at just 5.6kgs (12.3lbs) it is under half that of many 16” bikes on the market.

The low weight, essential for young riders, is attributed to the development of custom parts designed specifically for the Belter including the world’s first belt drive train on a kids bike, a two-year development in partnership with Gates Carbon Drive.

“The Belter is a very important addition to our range – it’s the perfect follow on to our balance bikes. With children learning to ride at a much younger age there is a gap in the market for a pedal bike suitable for a 3-4 year old. Everything on the bike is bespoke, there is nothing that doesn’t either help to keep the weight down or its efficiency up.” said Andy Loveland, Founder and Designer “And, with the incorporation of the Gates belt drive, we have a child’s bike that needs little or no maintenance.”

The bike, one of 3 new child balance products from Early Rider Ltd, will retail for approximately 300 Euros and will be available from late September through their network of retail and distribution partners.”
